Tyler discovered my Instagram profile through a post where my college best friend tagged me. Intrigued, he sent me a follow request (my account was set to private) and also added me on Snapchat.
Nearly two months had passed before Tyler reached out to me on Snapchat. He did right when I was moving back home to Asheboro from college. In a clumsy moment, I accidentally screenshotted his very first Snapchat to me. Fully embarrassed —taking a screenshot on Snapchat alerts the sender. It was not the first impression I wanted to make (BUT IT WORKED)!
Taking things slowly, Tyler and I decided it was best to wait a bit before I met his daughter, Macie, considering his parental responsibilities. While Tyler was nervous about how our meeting would go, I was confident that Macie and I would easily form a close bond. Tyler often says mine and Macies first interactions really showed him I was the one and made him fall in love. I feel incredibly blessed to be Macie's bonus mom and cherish our unique bond.
I have always been guarded and somewhat apprehensive when it came to love. I wasn't one to easily give my attention to others. My priorities had always been my studies, work, and personal growth. My friends and family can vouch for my typical lack of interest in dating. I knew God would place someone in my life at the right time; I didn't need to search for them. However, God delivered, and Tyler managed to spark a connection with me that I never expected, making me feel so loved and cared for.
From the photo that first captured Tyler's interest on Instagram, his first encounter with Jayce (known as his tyty), little Macie and Jayce first hanging out, and countless adventures we've had together! We have grown so much and cannot wait to be husband and wife.
